About the Project

Takka Productions came to us looking for a corporate identity for their new start-up in 2012. They had an large corporate client list and wanted a brand that conveyed the values and aspirations of the company.

The name is Nordic and means ‘fire’. It had particular significance to the client and subtly indicated the experience that he wanted his business to provide. We were given a brief that called for the simplicity and purity of Japanese brush script while scanning well to a western eye. We developed a custom font that provided this feel but didn’t look like a parody of other Asian style fonts. We chose a palette of warm Pantone® colours for their good visibility and contrast as well as their consistency across a variety of print/web applications.

The iconic ‘a’ was used as a stand alone element to enhance print/web media as well as on merchandise.

This was then applied to a range of promotional items that were sent to clients to strengthen the brand.
